The Al Hefaiyah Lake project, located along the Sharjah-Kalba Road, incorporates a robust liner protection system featuring APEC’s MATFLOW Geocomposite drainage. Designed to prevent pressure build-up beneath the geomembrane, the system efficiently manages both water leakage and gas accumulation, thereby safeguarding the integrity and functionality of the 132,000 m² reservoir. Integrated with a network of engineered pipes for runoff and rainwater harvesting, the project demonstrates a sustainable and technically advanced solution for water storage in challenging terrain

APEC’s MATFLOW Geocomposite drainage was installed beneath the lake liner system to efficiently manage leakage and gas accumulation. Infiltrating water is drained to the lower gradient, while gases are captured at high points and conveyed through the drainage layer into perforated pipe systems for safe collection and removal.
Strategically located along the Sharjah-Kalba Road, Al Hefaiyah Lake spans 132,000 m² and holds approximately 155 million gallons of water. Built in hilly terrain, the lake includes a geocomposite drainage layer beneath the geomembrane liner to ensure efficient water and gas drainage. A supporting pipe network manages surplus water, rainwater harvesting, and valley run-off, making the reservoir both technically advanced and sustainable.
