These roads are typically built with compacted aggregate over natural subgrades, which often consist of soft clays, silts, or organic soils with very low CBR values. Without reinforcement, such subgrades are prone to rutting, pumping, and differential settlement, often requiring frequent maintenance. APEC’s engineered geocomposite solutions features a range of reinforcement composites that reduces the thickness of aggregate layer but also provides efficient aggregate interlock system, tensile reinforcement for weak soils, and enhanced load-bearing capacity. It addition, it also prevents aggregate layer intermixing and prevents pumping of fine particles from the subgrade. It extends the service life of unpaved roadways, offers cost-savings and lesser carbon footprint.
